Russian-born cellist Yuri Anshelevich, Associate Principal Cellist with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, will present a free recital at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church on Sunday evening, March 30, at 7:00 p.m. Accompanied by pianist Christina Long, the program will include works by Brahms, de Falla, Schumann and Shostakovich.
Accepted to the Moscow State Conservatory at the age of fourteen, Mr. Anshelevich graduated from there with highest honors. He also won
First Prize in the Cello Division of the All-Russian Competition. He studied with Mstislav Rostropovich. Since then, he has won wide critical acclaim for concert and recital performances the world over. He is often described as a performer of power, imagination and vitality.
The program is a part of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church's Concert Classics series. There is no charge for admission, but donations are gratefully accepted to assist with the expenses of the concert.
