You are welcomed to an evening of cello and piano music. The associated principal cellist of Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Yuri Anshelevich, and Dr. Christina Long are going to present a concert at 8 PM at Preston Hallow Presbyterian Church on March 21 (Wednesday). The concert is free admission. The program includes music by Bach, Beethoven, Prokofiev and Debussy.
Graudated from Moscow State Conservatory, Yuri Anshelevich made his recital debut at the age of 9, received First Prize in the Cello Division of the All-Russian Competition, which led to studies with world-famous cellist Mstislav Rostropovich. Active as both a soloist and chamber musician, his repertoire includes every major work written for cello. He and his wife, Olga, have one adult son, Leonard.
The winnder of Piano Duo Competition of National Federation of Music Clubs, Christina Long has served as Assistant Professor of Music of Westfield State College, Westfield, Massachusetts and Tabor College, Kansas and the artist-in-residence in Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Her concert appearances included a sold-out Carnegie Weill Recital Hall recital, Lincoln Center of New York, Meyerson Hall of Dallas, Washington DC, Canada, Taiwan, China and Poland.
